Our Kitchen is GUTTED!!

Yesterday, we had a garage sale and sold our kitchen cabinets and countertops. We weren't even trying to, it just happened... We still have our appliances, which we actually were trying to sell, but nothing's hooked up anymore. We are borrowing a friend's old kitchen sink so we can wash our dishes! All I have to say is it's a good thing Kev built those shelves in the garage... Take-out, anyone?

Making More Room

This morning, our good friend, Alan the Roofer, came over to make more room on the side of the house for any big trailers, toy haulers, etc...

Raise the Roof!

Well, I guess technically it's the ceiling... I came home from work tonight to find my kitchen completely torn apart and insulation dust everywhere. As I coughed and gasped for air, I did what any wife would do... I whipped out my camera and started to capture the event! Here's just a glimpse of what I saw:

That insulation is a killer... we totalled 25+ bags of that nasty stuff!

Here is our kitchen as it stands just a few hours after the attack. The boys cleaned it up pretty well! We are so excited to have the extra space since it was only 7 inches away from Kevin's head! Now it'll be 13 inches higher! We were thinking of vaulting the whole thing to match the front part of the house, but my smart husband informed me that with the amount of money we would save by not vaulting, due to rewiring and reframing, we could re-do the entire kitchen... we already have so many different ideas!

Garage Shelves

Kevin took the initiative to start cleaning out our disaster of a garage by doing what he does best... making shelves! I was told they are not finished yet though... one baby step at a time...

One Wall Down...

...and who knows how many more to go, but we decided to start here. We (well Kevin) knocked this wall down the Friday before we moved to minimize the mess. (Did I ever mention that I thought it was ugly?) We are already very pleased with how much "more open" the house looks and feels. Hey, I also have a cool electrical vine to swing from every now and then! More to come soon... I hope!

No More Basement!

Yippee! We finally have a house to call our own! We moved in on Saturday, January 27th and love it, love it, LOVE IT!! These are pictures from before we moved in, and get a good look because things are already starting to change... we can't wait!
