GRASS!

In October, Kevin went in with Mike and Tyler (the neighbors) to purchase some grass seed. Planting it in all the yards became a neighborhood project. We just LOVE our neighbors! :) I was amazed at how fast and green it grew!

Look Cassie! I updated it!! ;)

Free Paint, Free Labor

Yesterday, Kevin's painter friend Mario came over to paint our house. He has been asking to paint our house for months... "Hey Kevin, you get the paint for your house, I paint for free..." So Kevin got a lot of free paint (so much in fact that he painted my parent's house, our house and still has enough to paint our neighbor's house) and Mario and Kevin went to town!

New "MacDaddy" AC Unit

So if you know Kevin at all, you know he likes to be cool and stay cool... Our old AC unit was the old original, it cost a fortune to run, and it wasn't meeting the Kevin standard. So after a quick phone call to Kevin's AC guy, Bob Ferrin (Ferrin's Air Force), we had a new AC unit on our house two days later. Kevin is now the coolest kid on the block!

March 21st... my official annual blog day!

Ironically, this appears to be my new Spring Break tradition... Hey, once a year isn't bad for me to post an update on our Home Improvement blog site... especially since not a whole lot has happened this past year on the house! The bathrooms are still unfinished, although Kev got some fancy new toilets on trade!! I know, the excitement is too much! Kev also traded on a pretty big job and we were able to redo our front yard out of the deal... pretty cool! We weren't planning starting this project until so far into the future I couldn't see it, but here we are! The demo started in January and then pavers were laid at the end of Feb. This month, the sprinklers we installed and all that remains is the sod and plants/flowers for the corner curve and planter by the windows. Kev is also working up a plan to build an entry way off of the front door, which is what the two concrete squares are in the middle of the pavers.
Out come the palm trees, big boulders, and gravel.

Now all the concrete gets taken out...

Our front yard was completely dirt from the end of Jan to the end of Feb, and it rained a few times... which meant there was alot of MUD! Our temporary solutions were sheets of wood and carpet squares... too bad I didn't get any pictures of that!

Needless to say, we were so excited for pavers!

Until next year... haha! Happy blog day!
